With the new information from the RSHGA Historian (Alasdair MacDonald), Blairgowrie and Rattray Highland Games Association are beginning to piece together a timeline of the Games from its origin to the Present Day.
1868 - Highland Games in Blairgowrie Started at Welltown, Blairgowrie. Ran consecutively until 1884
1869 - Formed as the Blairgowrie and Rattray Athletic Games Association
1885 - No Games held
1886 - No Games held
1887 - Games Revived. Ran through to 1914, before the Great War (World War I) started
1907 - Donald Dinnie returns as a Judge for the Games
1915 - 1919 - No Games were held
1920 - Games revived. Through to 1924
1925 - 1927 - No Games were held
1928 - Games revived. Through to 1935
1939 - 1945 - No Games held due to World War II
1951 & 1952 - Games revived as the Fair o' Blair Sports, by the Blairgowrie Junior's Football Club
1974 - Revived and ran through to 1980
1981 - No Games held as no field available to host them.
1982 - Moved to the High School Grounds
1989 - Incorporated as Blairgowrie Highland Games Limited
1990 - Changed Name to Blairgowrie Highland Games Association
1991 - Blairgowrie Highland Games moved to Bogles Field on Essendy Road.
2019 - Tom Stoltman visited the Games and set the World Record for the Ardblair Stones (21.81 Seconds) for all 9 Stones
2024 - Changed Business Name to Blairgowrie & Rattray Highland Games Association and became a registered Charity
