Chieftain of the Games

Most Highland Games across the country have a Chieftain of the Games.

Since the resumption of our Games - until last year - we were privileged to have had Laurence Blair-Oliphant of Ardblair and Fingask as our Chieftain.

The 2025 Games were his last having intimated his intention to retire ahead of the Games.

As a result of this decision, the committee agreed that the role of Chieftain would continue, but instead be done on a rolling basis for one game, but would be invited to shadow the previous Chieftain to see how things are done.

For the 2026 Games, John Johnston of The Proctor Group has been selected and invited to be the Chieftain for this year.

With this decision we shall now start to record a Roll of Honour of previous Chieftains of the Games.
